Paris is always a good idea!

May 5, 2016

From all the cities I have visited, Paris is my favorite one. I just can’t get enough of this city. It has its own charm so if you are dying to discover Paris, it is for sure one of the best places in the world to visit.

I was dying to see Paris again and to discover more about it.

As I am a „Macarons Addict“ I couldn’t resist to start my day in Paris without having some macarons. After having lunch at Bouillon CHARTIER with the best guide in Paris, Xavier, we headed to Pierre Hermé, who is widely considered to be the world’s foremost pastry chef. Pierre Hermé is known around France for his macarons which are considered the best. I visited both Pierre Hermé and Ladurée in Paris and the experience at Pierre Hermé, was unforgettable and incomparable to the Ladureé experience. Ladurée’s macarons have an incomparable taste to those of Pierre Hermé. You have to try both in order to understand what I am saying. What is more, the service in Ladurée was extremely bad, it took a long time until someone took our order and the macarons weren’t fresh at all, even though we’ve been in a very touristic place on the Rue Royale street.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good weather during our stay, it was cold, rainy and windy, but I did not want to skip the Versailles Gardens. Breathless view and worth to plan one day to go there to see it whenever you go next time to Paris. On my way to Versailles I had to buy a scarf because I was FREEZING just with my leather jacket.

The view from Montparnasse Tower was also astonishing. Paris from above is amazingly beautiful. A great view you can have as well from Trocadéro, it is more crowded though.

The highlight of our trip to Paris was for sure the MAFED visit to the Lesage Ateliers of Chanel and to Hermés Paris Headquarters. We received some great insights. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures, but we were told that eg. the Lesage Ateliers needed 10 days to make a Chanel Blazer (Haute Couture). The whole process behind is very impressive. You finally understand why some Haute  Couture pieces are so expensive. The people have worked for days to finish just one product and all the steps required in a single process can leave you open-mouthed.

It was a great experience for me and I hope to travel next time to Paris for the Fashion Week.

Enjoy your weekend.

Love all the photos! Also, thanks for the tip about the Pierre Herme macaroons! I’ve never been to Paris but everyone talks so much about Laduree that I’m sure a lot of people don’t consider other options 🙂 I always love trying something less touristy! Hopefully I’ll get to visit Paris soon, so I’ll make sure to try those out!
