The world of fashion 2017 – Who owns what?

The world of fashion is a billion dollar industry, where a handful of companies tend to dominate most. One of the most challenging industries is undergoing constant changes. Fashion conglomerates seek acquisition opportunities that deliver grow whereas they try to to sell underperforming brands from their portfolios . There are many changes that have taken place in the fashion industry especially in the last few years.

Here are just some of them:

LVMH

2011 – LVMH acquired French trunk maker Moynat

2013 – Nicholas Kirkwood joined LVMH

2013 – LVMH acquired a majority stake in Loro Piana 

2016 – LVMH bought a majority stake in the high-tech luggage maker RIMOWA

2016 – LVMH sold Donna Karan to G- III Apparel Group Ltd. 

2017 – De Beers ended the retail venture with LVMH

2017 – LVMH bought a majority stake in Maison Francis Kurkdjian

 

Richemont

2007 – Richmond acquired stake in Azzedine Alaia 

2012 – Peter Millar joined Richemont

2013 – Inauguration of Giampiero Bodino

 

Kering

2013 – PPR becomes Kering

2013 – Christopher Kane joined Kering

2013 – Acquisition of Pomellato und Dodo

2013 – Qeelin joined Kering

2014 – Ulysse Nardin was acquired

2015 – Tretorn sale at Authentic Brands Group

2015 – Sergio Rossi has been sold to InvestIndustrial
